1. Incorporate your quotation into your own sentence
2. Include an accurate in-text citation
3. Reference both direct quotations and indirect paraphrased information that is not common knowledge. You do not need to reference the fact that the sky is blue, but you must reference the idea that King James VI of Scotland was supposedly a descendant of Banquo (Scott 16).
