Alabastron
A globular vase without handles used for perfume and often made of alabaster.
Amphora
A two-handled vessel used for transporting liquids, especially wine or oil.
Aryballos
A small globular vessel with one handle used for oil, scent, etc.
Hydria
A three-handled vessel with oval body and flat shoulder used for carrying water
Krater
A large two-handled bowl used for mixing wine and water
Kylix
A shallow two-handled cup used for drinking wine
Lekythos
A small vase or flask with narrow neck containing oil. When presented as a gift to the dead, it was often provided with a false bottom so as to enable it to be filled with a minimal quantity of oil.
Oinochoe
A jug used for pouring wine into wine cups
Phiale
A shallow bowl without a foot or handles used for wine mainly in religious ceremonies
Plemochoe
Possibly the name given to a vase with high foot and swelling body known to have been used at the Eleusinian mysteries.
Sakkos
A sieve or strainer for wine.
