symmetrical polyarthritis, deformities are correctable, Malar rash, proteinuria, anemia
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)
back pain worse in morning and improves with exercise, onset before 45, morning stiffness, inflammation of tendon/ligament insertion sites especially Achilles
Ankylosing Spondylitis
pain/stiffness in proximal muscles of shoulders, neck, hips. Somewhat acute onset, usually symmetrical, may have fever, malaise
Polymyalgia Rheumatica
Limp, knee pain, worse with activity. Self-limiting. Common in boys 9-15 y/o
Osgood-Schlatter
Painless limp, loss of abduction and internal rotation, decreased ROM, may have pain in thigh or knee
