Self-actualization
A need to realize one’s inner potential

Lower-level needs require fulfillment before moving up to higher levels
A bodily need arises, creating tensions. (Physical needs) This tension is called a DRIVE. (Uncomfortable state) What theory is this?
Drive or Set Point theories
Motivation to eat based on the body’s need for energy (homeostatic hunger motivation)=based on hunger
Homeostatic
Hunger that arises from the anticipated pleasure of eating good food (Hedonic motivation)=based on pleasure
Hedonic
Behavior is motivated by incentives. (Incentive: external stimuli/goals that are associated with reinforcement.) Source of motivation is in the environment we pulled to do things.

What need is this? Temperature, Thirst, activity, Sleep, Excretion, Hunger

What need is this? Achievement, belonging, self-enhancement, dominance, autonomy, order, trust
Social needs
It need to master difficult challenges, to outperform others, and to meet high standard of excellence. What motive is this?
