Bulimia Nervosa: DSM-5 Criteria
A
- Recurrent episodes of binge eating & feeling out
of control. - Recurrent inappropriate compensatory behavior
in order to prevent weight gain - At least once a week for 3 months
- Self-evaluation is unduly influenced by body
shape and weight - Disturbance does not occur exclusively during
episodes of anorexia nervosa.

appearance - Often have a history of anorexia

months without compensatory behaviors
* Rapid eating
* Feeling uncomfortably full

- Restriction of energy intake relative to requirements, leading to a significantly low weight
- Intense fear of gaining weight/becoming fat OR persistent behavior that interferes with weight
gain. - Disturbance in way in which one’s body weight/shape is experienced OR undue influence of body weight or shape on self- evaluation OR persistent lack of recognition of seriousness of current low weight
