- When introducing the victim the reader should know exactly who you’re talking to
(ex. Victim #1 (Jane Doe)) - Why they want you there
- Concerns
- Identity, race, gender, height, weight, hair, eye color (ANUR OIL)
- Always ask if there were weapons involved
- Always state if suspect was armed / what they were armed with

- Be sure to use indefinities (ex. “Approximately” or “About”)

- Use of the word criminal
- “Suspect” instead of “Criminal”; person is suspect until proven guilty
- “Criminal” and “Defendant” are inflammatory
