Exam 2 Review B Flashcards
What are the 5 components of APGAR
Heart Rate, Respiratory Effort, Muscle Tone, Reflex Responses, Color
What is the location of an Epideral?
L-3 to L-4 site between dura and the spinal canal
What are the two main checks with AFP screening?
detect open body wall defects and Chromosomal anomalies
What components are observed in the Antepartum Fetal Surveillance?

4 components of Uterine Intensity
Frequency - the amount of time from the start of one contraction till the start of the next contraction.
Duration - the length of a contraction from the beginning to its end. (about 55 - 65 seconds)
Intensity - the strength of the contractions
Interval - the period between the end of one contraction and the start of the next
Two terms for actions of a contraction.
Acme (peak) - contraction is most intense
Decrement - decreasing intensity as the uterua relaxes
