What is the criteria for short duration hypomania/major depressive episode?
never met full criteria have experienced two or more episodes of short-duration that only last for 2–3 days
What is criteria for short duration cyclothymia?
Multiple episodes of hypomanic and major depressive episode symptoms that do not meet criteria that persist over a period of less than 24 months (less than 12 months for children or adolescents) and has not been without the sx for more than 2 months during this time
What is criteria for bipolar I?
one manic episode (don’t need depression) present for at least 1 week

- Increase in goal-directed activity
- Excessive involvement in activities that have a high potential for painful consequences

at least 1 week
Length of time to dx hypomania
lasts at least 4 days but less than 1 week
