Enlightenment Period

A
  • important because it was a time of scientific development
  • philosophical and academic pursuits were allowed to flourish
  • new instruments were created using modern materials which allowed them to be improved and made more efficient
  • > led to them being cheaper, so instruments became more financially available to a larger number of people
  • Adolphe Sax invented the saxophone using his knowledge of chemical engineering
