Q

What is apperceptive agnosia?

A

Object recognition impairment because of deficits in perceptual processing. Gollin picture test reveals that apperceptive agnostics require more complete drawings to recognize an object. People with apperceptive agnosia will have trouble copying accurately.

Q

What is associative agnosia?

A

Perceptual processes essentially intact, but object recognition is impaired partly or mainly because of difficulties in accessing relevant knowledge about objects from memory. Unlike apperceptive agnoics, these patients can copy objects they cannot recognize.
