Types of MT Assessment
Diagnostic, Interpretive, Descriptive, Prescriptive, Evaluative
Diagnostic Assessment
1st time a client comes into treatment center
Interpretive Assessment
Assessment to interpret client’s actions and behaviors.
Descriptive Assessment
Assessment for determining why there is a behavior.
Prescriptive Assessment
Diagnostic assessments used to prescribe different experiences for clients.
Evaluative Assessment
An assessment used to evaluate progress.
Content of MT Assessments
Baseline Observations, Strengths and Needs, Goals, Objectives and Treatment Plan
Person-Centered Language
Language that needs to be objective and observable.
Goal
A long term, not entirely too specific target.
Objective
A specific and measurable target that contains a behavior, condition, criteria and timeframe
Task Analysis
Breaks down a task into each performance needed to complete an objective
Parts of a Treatment plan:
Improve-maintain-decrease, source of motivation, how many sessions, where, what setting, how long, interventions to work on objectives.
Contingency Plan
Finding sources of motivation for clients and including them into treatment for the future.
Parts of an initial assessment:
Background information, Baseline info by data, Strengths and Needs
Active Listening
Being able to listen to a client where they can tell you are actively listening and interested in their responses.
