Exam 2 Flashcards
What are the three different aerodynamic axes?
Pitch, Roll, Yaw
What are the aileron deflection limits?
+25, -10
What do your flaps help generate?
Lift
When is manual flap control available?
Below 121kt and either the gear is down or it is up and the airspeed hold is off
What is the deflection of the ruddervators?
25 degrees up and down
How many servos do we have?
13
What VIT would you look at to monitor your temps for your servos?
8
What servos does the DEEC control?
Throttle servo & stop feather servo
In flight operation mode, what controls the blade pitch of the prop?
The propeller govenor
In response to the pilot’s inputs the propeller governor controls what aspect of flight?
RPM
What allows fuel to flow from the inboard aft & forward fuel tanks to the header tank?
Venturi effect
What controls the fuel feed solenoid valves?
RCM
Does the mass flow sensor give you calculated or measured fuel flow?
Calculated
What is the fuel dump rate in manual mode?
3000lb per hour
What effect will an oil leak have on the prop?
Change the pitch of the prop
What happens when the oil filter gets clogged?
It bypasses the filter
What does the speed lever change?
RPM
What are the Caution and Warning limits for overpressure in the Header fuel tank?
Caution- 4.2psi
Warning- 4.6psi
What are the normal operating and maximum torque limits?
Normal- 0-104%
Max- 107.8%
What’s the normal operating RPM limits?
Minimum- 64% Normal range- 65-101.5% Normal in flight range- 82-100.5% Lock out range- 89.5-92.5% Max- 105.5% for 30 secs
What are normal operating EGT limits?
Min 300deg Normal in flight 350deg - 650deg Max 675deg Normal start 695deg - 700deg Max for start only 770deg -776deg for one sec
What does DEEC stand for?
Digital Electronic Engine Controller
What limits engine torque and exhaust gas temperature?
THE DEEC (by monitoring throttle position and fuel flow)
How many fuel tanks are there, and where are they located?
7 total:
3 in fuselage (fore, aft, header)
2 in each wing (outboard is gravity fed)
How does fuel get to the engine?
From header tank via 2x electric fuel pumps connected in parallel.
Operate independently for 20min with 10sec overlap on switchover.
Equipped with check valve to prevent reverse flow when 1 pump activated.
Where are the fuel system EPs?
3.28-3.32
