- The active metabolites of the theinopyridines (clopidogrel and prasugrel)
IRREVERSIBLY bind to the platelet P2Y12 receptor - Ticagrelor binds REVERSIBLY to the P2Y12 receptor. The reversible binding of ticagrelor, along with its half-life of 7-8.5 hours, requires TWICE DAILY dosing.
