What does crime control do?
It emphasizes efficient arrest and convictions of offenders.
What is the Presumption of Guilt?
To detain or arrest without proof, but with reasonable suspicion.
What is Plea Bargaining?
Admitting guilt for a lesser sentence
What is the Assembly Line method?
You start with a single part, then add to it. Every part is treated the exact same and at the end of the line you have a finished product.
What is the most important function of due process?
Making sure that the person’s constitutional rights are given.
What does the due process method assume?
That the defendant is innocent

An adversarial trial
What is the obstacle course metaphor?
It takes longer to get from point A to point B. Obstacles slow down the process. Trials, rights, etc.

Laws that are universally known to be wrong. Example: murder
What is Mala Prohibition?
Laws not everyone agrees is wrong. Example: marijuana, prostitution

The social framework in which crimes are committed

A crime committed from within your legal job
