Exam 1 Flashcards
What does excess CuLi indicate?
Replace the halogens with whatever is connected to the CuLi
What does 1. Mg excess, 2. C=O, 3, H3O+ indicate?
Replace the halogens with a carbon connected to a hydroxyl
What does 4 equiv Li and another molecule indicate?
Replace the halogens with hydrogens and replace the H on the hydroxyl with a Li
What does NH2NH2 / KOH indicate?
Replaces the double bonded Oxygen with two hydrogens
What does 1. PPh3, 2. n-BuLi, 3. molecule with a double bonded oxygen indicate?
It puts the two molecules together by getting rid of the halogen and replacing it with a double bond connecting the new molecule.
What does NaBH4 indicate?
It replaces double-bonded oxygens (Excluding carboxylic acids) with hydroxyl groups and hydrogens
