It’s a sinlge thing/matter cannot be separated
What is a mixture? Can it be separated?
It’s a combination of 2 or more substances of things and it can be separated
What is a heterogeneous mixture and its features?
Has visibly different features, can see the different substances in the mixture
What is homogenous mixture and it’s features?
Only has one visible distinct phase (looks all the same thing)
What is an element?
A pure substance that can not be broken down (one thing)
What is a compound?
Something made up of 2 or more elements and can be broken down
What is a diatomic molecule?
A molecule that contains 2 atoms
What is a triatomic molecule?
A molecule that contains 3 atoms
What is a homoatomic molecule?
A molecule that contains the exact same atoms
What is a heteroatomic molecule?
A molecule made up of 2 or more different atoms

Color ,Oder ,Physical state ,Its Chemical identity remains the same, Substance changes its physical appearance
But its chemical composition stays the same
No new substance is formed
Chemical
Undergoes or resists change to form a new substance, A new substance is formed

What are exact numbers?
ANY number that has no uncertainty with it
What are some examples of defined numbers?
There are exactly 12 eggs in a dozen, things that DO NOT have to be measured
What are inexact numbers?
ANY number that has a degree of uncertainty or has to be measured
What are some examples of inexact numbers?

How can you tell if a number is a significant figure or not?
ALL NONE zeros (98.765)
IF zeros are sandwiched in between two non zero numbers than they are significant figures (7.80097
Leading zeros ARE NOT significant figures (0.0099)
IF trailing zeros HAVE a decimal point then they are significant figures (985.000) BUT IF NOT then they are NOT significant figures (987,000)
Density = WHAT?
Density = Mass/Volume
