The story of Job from the Bible tells of a wealthy and good man named Job who lived a righteous life. One day, Satan challenged God, saying that Job was only faithful because of his success. To test Job, God allowed Satan to take away Job’s wealth, kill his children, and strike him with painful sores. Despite these terrible losses, Job did not curse God. Three friends came to comfort him but instead argued that Job must have sinned to deserve such suffering. Job insisted he was innocent and questioned why God would allow such pain. Finally, God spoke to Job from a storm, reminding him of His infinite power and wisdom. Humbled, Job repented for questioning God. In the end, God restored Job’s fortunes, giving him twice as much as he had before, and blessed him with more children, wealth, and a long life.
