In the eyes of a Christian, can a criminal go to heaven if they have committed a crime?
Yes. Christians recognise God’s forgiveness, and they believe that the most “evil” person can start again.
Why do Christians believe in forgiveness after a criminal has committed “evil” crimes?
Because Jesus died on the cross to forgive us for our sins. Therefore, their sins have already been forgiven. They should still be punished according to the law, but they should also be forgiven.
What do Christians portray “evil” as?
Similar to other religions, Christians portray evil as a “force”, which is the opposite of “goodness.” In some stories, the force was given the form of the devil or “satan.” The “force” of evil is constantly tempting us away from God and to use our freewill for our own selfish desires.
