evidence based dentistry is about making clinical decisions based on good quality evidence. what kind of decisions does this include
optimal interval for checkups, electric versus manual toothbrush etc
what is asking
ask clinical questions in a focused way so that you can find and appraise the evidence
what is alignment and acquirement
search for and retrieve evidence
what is appraisal
critically appraise the evidence for validity and clinical relevance
describe applying evidence
apply it to patient care to see if you can use it
what is evidence
an available body of facts or information to show wheteher a belief or statement is true or valid
