Missouri Compromise of 1820

A

Permitted Maine to the Union as a free state and Missouri to be permitted as a slave state. Made the Louisiana territory North of the Southern border of Missouri a free territory. It also made it so that southern slave owners could go into the North and recapture escaped slaves, this is known as the Fugitive slave law.
