What is adaptation?
A change in a organism so it is more suited to its environment.
What are ancestors?
A person who is the descendant of other people in there family.
What is something endangered?
A species at very high risk of extinction.
What is the meaning of extinct?
When a species has been completely wiped out.
Environment definition?
Where an organism lives.
What is evolution?
The change of genes to better survive over generations.
What are fossils?
Remains filled in with minerals.
What are genes?
A persons DNA that defines their characteristics.
What is inheritance?
When you get something from your family such as looks.
What acquiring something from your family?
When you get a skill such as a good runner from them.
Who made the theory of Evolution?
Charles Darwin after visiting the Galápagos Islands.
How are fossils made?
The organism dies, the flesh rots away, sediment builds up, the sediment compresses in to rock, water drains through the rock and leaves the mold the creature, the mold is filled with minerals and finally the rock erodes exposing it to the surface.
What do paleontologists do?
They carefully chip away at rock to find and study fossils.
