GENERALISABILITY - ETHNOCENTRIC SAMPLE
A
- The study has low generalisability
- This is because the study was ethnocentric as it was only done in the West Midlands
- The behaviour of participants may be only localized to the area therefore it cannot be generalised to the wider society

GENERALISABILITY - OPPORTUNITY SAMPLE
A
- Opportunity sample - ppts available to observer whether they held the doors open for other people
- Biased sample method not representative - can’t generalise findings that no different gender in prosocial behaviour.

- The study has low inter rate reliability
- The study did not follow any standardized procedure
The study was not in a controlled setting and took place in college, shops etc. A standardized procedure would not be done due to the lack of control

- The study shows the pro social behaviour is not gender dependent
Findings calculated value of 0.82 which is less than the critical value. → 2.71 not significant no gender pro social behaviour - This could be useful for employees in professional setting such as healthcare doesn’t matter what gender they employ, both have an equal chance of exhibiting pro social behaviour.

VALIDITY
A
- High ecological validity
- It was done in a natural environment around Stourbridge town and college opposed to a control environment
- The participants were completing normal day life tasks that did not affect their day to day life.

ETHICS
A
- The study did not fully abide ethical guidelines
- Participants did not give consent to being part of the study. They were given no opportunity to withdraw from the study. Participants identity was protected
- This is important as it means that we may not be able to replicate the study as it involves ethical issues and participants did not consent to being part of the study.
