A
Lots of research support for how the organisation of the nervous system works. For example, researchers have tested on animals what happens when parts of the nervous system are damaged or removed, results of damage to the spinal cord could paralysis.

Applications
A
For example, understanding how the ANS works can help people to cope with the physical effects of stress e.g. shaking and sweating. If this is really bad and interferes with someone’s life e.g. a musician playing an instrument can be treated with drugs.

Weaknesses
A
We cannot understand the body and our behaviour by looking at these systems alone. The nervous system works with other systems such as the endocrine system and we must consider this as well.
