Q

Why is the Behaviourist approaches focus on the here and now a strength?

Q

Why is the behaviourist approach a deterministic approach?

A

It claims that all behaviour is learned meaning that we have no free will , which means that we have no control over our behaviour, it is decided by our environment

Q

Why is the behaviourist approach being more relevant to animals than humans a weakness?

A

Most of the research began on animals , for example SD , which means that it may not always be applicable to humans

(e.g Wolpe 1973 - found that a women was scared of insects but SD did not work, her huaband was named after an insect and they had problems , which explained the fear of insects)
