Frail and elderly people and they may feel afraid and rejected

To reach out to see what we can help remove their pain and assist them in a difficult time to surround them with love and care

Life is a gift from God and should be valued. Euthanasia goes against that concept by saying ill persons life isn’t worthwhile

Where a person deliberately carries out killing of a terminally ill person

Where another person assists terminally ill person to kill them self with patient in complete control

Providing medication to terminally ill which has side effect of hastening death as long as it’s necessary to relieve pain
What is palliative care?
Care provided for people living with a fatal condition and primary goal is quality of life.
What is voluntary euthanasia?
When a mentally competent person request that his or her life be ended
What is involuntary euthanasia?
When others make decision to intentionally end the life of a person who is unable to request it themselves.
Name three reasons FOR euthanasia
- nobody has the right to stop someone’s own decision to end their life
- patients who cannot be helped with any type of treatment should have right to choose to be freed
- frequent requests are from elderly or terminally ill
Name three reasons AGAINST euthanasia.
- medical professionals have vowed to give and protect life
- only God has the right to take away life as he is the life giver
- using money for cures is a more useful way to use your money
Islamic view on euthanasia
Muslims believe human life given by Allah is sacred. Only he chooses how long each person should live. Euthanasia and suicide are strictly forbidden
