How did Germany change between 1815-1914
There were 39 German States in 1815 , 38 merge together under Prussian leadership in 1871 to form the German empire , Austria did not join. It had europes most powerful army and second largest navy in the world.
Why was the UK a big power in 1914
The UK was a big power in 1914 because it had the worlds biggest navy , the pound was the strongest currency and London was the financial centre of. The world and they owned a quarter of the worlds land due to the British empire.
How did the Netherlands change
In 1815 the Kingdom of the United Netherlands was established , the Belgians rebelled in 1830 , in 1839 they gained independence. All the great powers of Europe signed the treaty of Westminster in 1839 which guaranteed Belgium neutrality, britains were concerned that if Germany invaded Belgium they could easily invade Britain
How did the ottoman empire change
It no longer exists and parts of it have been conquered by the austrohungarian empire and parts of it have become Serbia , Albania , Bulgaria and Romania. Serbia wanted to recapture the serb inhabited lands in the Balkans that Austria Hungary controlled
How did Italy change
In 1815 Italy did not exist , a number of states existed . They merged together in 1871 to form the kingdom of Italy . The Italian government wanted more land containing Italians in the Balkans and in Austria (unredeemed Italy )
How did France change
In 1815 France included two provinces called Alsace and Lorraine. After they lost a war against Prussia in 1871 , they Lost those provinces to Germany , causing a deep rooted hostility towards the Germans and desire to regain the lost provinces
