Most people in Europe live pretty close to what? how did this impact them?
They lived close to water, this gave them resources including crops, protection,trade,transportation.
Why is northern Europe so much warmer than it should be?
The north Atlantic drift brings warmer water from the ocean
why are the middle ages called the dark ages?
fell between ancient times and middle, medieval means middle ages in Latin.
Called the dark ages because small kingdom would often go to war.

mean to confrot people into christianity, the pope sends them.
Patrick’s story
Patrick got kidnapped- was a slave and a sheep herder then started to talk to God, had a dream of an escape plan so he did it and escaped. Comes home becomes a preist then goes back to Ireland where he got kidnapped-lives there the rest of his life while teaching them about God. HE did this with a 3 leaf clover.
define Monks
were religious men who lived apart from society in isolated communities.

Charlemagne- was a brilliant and strong king, he lead the franks in building a huge empire.

Franks are a Germanic tribes which is lead by charlemagne and they turned it into an empire.

A long
series of war between christians and Muslims in southwest Asia, they were fighting over Palestine but Europeans called in the holy land because Jesus died there
