European countries have many political and economic ties. the EU was made in 1957 when 6 countries joined together to create the beginning of the European union. France, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Belgium to begin with. The biggest enlargement was in 2004 when ten countries were added. The UK Recently left. The countries work together to advance their economic goals and member states use the Euro as their currency, Promote public stability in Europe as the Eu formed just after WWII determined such a war should never happen again.
Advantages of EU Membership
Eu Regulations being standardised all across the area.
Provides security and no EU countries will fight against each other. And great security from outside attack
All citizens of countries within the EU have the right to live and work in any of the member countries. This gives people more freedom to improve their quality and life and find work they enjoy
Better for trade, it provides a huge opportunity for companies to trade and there are no barriers to trade or restriction.
Disadvantages of EU membership
The free movement means anyone from the EU can come to our country and get work housing and benefits with the government having no way of controlling how many people can come where they are in the UK or what jobs they can have
Although the EU is good for poorer countries especially for the new members from eastern Europe. Which get a lot of financial help the richer countries like the UK, France + Germany have to pay a great deal towards this
The EU regulations create a mountain of red tape for businesses and organisations and some of them are not sensible.
