Eukarkaryotes V Prokaryotes Flashcards
1
Q
What are eukaryotes?
A
They have cell membrane, cytoplasm and genetic material (DNA) inside the nucleus. All animals (including humans), plants and fungi are eukaryotes.
2
Q
What are prokaryotes?
A
Bacteria is an example. You can only see individual bits of bacteria. You need a powerful microscope to see it. Bacteria has cytoplasm, cell membrane, but no cellulose like in plant cells.
3
Q
How are eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells similar?
A
Both cells contain a cytoplasm, a cell membrane and a cell wall.
4
Q
How are eukaryotic and prokaryotic different?
A
The prokaryotic cells don’t have cellulose like plant cells have (eukaryotes).
