Eurscepticism

A

opt-outs - the UK has always been a bit separate from the rest of Europe
EU is not very democratic - the EU Commission which is the executive of the EU is not elected
there is a belief that the UK was paying more than what was benefitting them
- 2017 - £8.9 billion
- 2016 - 43% of British trade was with the EU, valued at £241 billion
the concern that immigrants were taking advantage of the UK welfare system
- 2013-2014 Eu citizens contributed £14.7 billion in tax and receive £2.6 billion in benefits => not true
