the main religion tends to be non-christian, including Islam, Hinduism and Sikhism, meaning they had to establish their own temples, mosques and places of worship in contemporary britain

-ethnic minorities tend to be more religious than ethnic majority in the UK, and religious affiliation forms a big part of their ethnic identity
-Bierley 2013 - black people are twice as likely to attend church than white people
-Modood - less religiosity amongst second generation ethnic groups
