Gillborn and Youdell(2000
teachers were quicker to discipline black pupils than others for the same behaviour. They found that teachers expected black pupils to present discipline problems and misinterpreted their behaviour as threatening or as a challenge to authority. Students felt picked on and that their ability was being underestimated.
Archer (2010)
teachers stereotyped Asian girls as quiet and passive. Findings show that when this stereotype is challenged - they are often dealt with more severely than other pupils.

USA research shows minority students failing to get into better secondary schools due to discrimination. They found that primary school reports were used to screen out pupils with language difficulties, while the application process was difficult for Non- English speaking parent to understand.

the National Curriculum for ignoring ethnic diversity and promoting an attitude of ‘Little Englandism’ - a mythical age of empire and past glories, ignoring the history of black and Asian people.
