During last decade proportions of pupils achieve of A*-Cs at GCSE rose by almost half as much again, all main ethnic groups achieve higher grades than ever before.

White and Indian/Bangladeshi students do better than black students
Significant variations among Asians, Indians do better than Pakistani/Bangladeshi students
Almost all groups of girls do better than boys but amongst Asians boys do better than girls, similarly within each EG MC do better thancWC.

Almost half of Bangladeshi and Pakistani workers earned under £7 ph compared with on quarter of white British workers
