Q

How does racism in wider society have an impact of achievement of some ethnic minority children?

A

Racial discrimination leads to social exclusion. This can be seen in housing and in employment too. Minorities are more likely to be forced into substandard accommodation rather than white people of the same class. In employment, only one in 16 ethnic minority applications were offered an interview as against one in 9 white applications.
