A disagreement that often involves violence
War
A time of armed conflict between countries or within a country
Justice
When Things are fair for all people

An action is right or the acceptable things to do

The belief that all life is sacred and equal and that it’s God’s job to kill things not humans

A public demonstration of a certain belief that you believe in
Boycott
A peaceful form of protest where a person refuses to take part in something they feel is unjust
Pacifism
The belief that violence is wrong
Absolute Pacifism
The belief that you should never use violence
Conditional Pacifism
The belief that it’s not right to use violence but you can use it in certain circumstances eg. Self Defence
Pax Christi
A catholic group who promote pacifism
Quakers
A from of Christianity that believe in absolute pacifism
Conscientious Objector
Somebody who objects joining war even if it’s the war
Dietrich Bonhoeffer
A Polish individual who tried to assassinate Hitler
Diplomacy
The art of resolving dialogue without conflict
Reasons why war is ok
~ Self Defence
~ If it follows Just War Theory
~ You have a valid reason
~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s quote: Not to Act is to Act, Not to Speak is to Speak, God will not hold us blameless
~ If it’s a Dictatorship and the Dictator is evil and the people are brainwashed you need to get rid of the dictator./
Reasons why you shouldn’t go to war
~ The saying “Violence leads to more Violence”
~ It breaks The Sanctity of Life
~ The violence may not work eg. The Afghanistan - USA war
~ Jesus said ‘Blessed are Peacemakers’ and ‘Love One Another’
