Kantian Ethics
Telling the truth- categorical imperative- and it applies to everyone. If you tell the truth, it’s no longer your fault. Consequences of an action do not matter. Morality cannot be based on feelings. Ask yourself if it would be okay for everyone to do what you’re doing. Treat people as ends, not means.
Contractarianism and the Liberal Democratic State
Morality by agreement. Justify our actions to those around us. Moral views are derived by argument and what we can agree on.
