  • Are participants aware of the aims of the study? Are they aware they are part of research?
  • Participants must be told what they will be doing, how long it will take and the true aims of the study.
  • Children cannot give this themselves - it needs to be gained from a parent.

  • How might participants react to disclosing information that could threaten their jobs, safety, etc?
  • The participants should not be identifiable in the research. Their names and personal details should not be used and their personal space should be respected.
  • All data must be kept in accordance with GDPR guidelines.
