When presented with an EQUATION/INEQUALITY/EXPRESSION with a COMPLEX FRACTION, what is the first step to solving the problem?

Simplify the Complex Fraction.
1. Reduce the NUMERATOR to a SIMPLE FRACTION. (Multiply by the LCD).
2. Reduce the DENOMINATOR to a SIMPLE FRACTION.
