Screenwriter
In charge of interpreting the story and characters from the screenplay. Turns written words into selected shots.
Director
Works w/actors to achieve desired characterizations. Collaborates w/many other members of the production and post production teams.

Creates the overall look of the film. Chief member of the camera department. Collaborates with Electric, Grip and department heads.
Director of Photography/Cinematographer/DP or DOP
Works with director to set up shots. Creates lighting scheme.

In charge of design and construction of sets
Art Director
Collaborates with director, DP, Gaffer, Carpentry Teams
Art Director
In charge of the Electrical department. Consults with DP, chooses and sets the lighting fixtures that illuminate the film’s sets or locations.
Gaffer
In charge of the grips. Works with DP and Gaffer to get support equipment for camera and lighting for each shot.
Key Grip
Runs camera. Ensures proper framing and focus during shot. Sometimes starts and stops recording process of camera.
Camera Operator
Responsible for all camera equipment. Bodies, lenses, accessories, batteries, media etc. Ensures everything is clean, cabled and running. During take, follows focus. Often keeper of the camera report and logs.
Camera Assistant
Runs audio recording equipment on the set. Maintains good levels during recording. Coordinates best microphone placement with Boom Operator
Sound Mixer
In charge of holding or rigging microphone from a boom pole.
Boom Operator
Many responsibilities, capable of many tasks that involve moving and supporting things
