My opinion
They can develope; It takes time and the right structure of govt. They must take advantage of their resources but do so with economic equality; They have faster growing economies so they must invest money in the right places. Like the U.S. there are always chances for the less economic thriving to develope and be successful, but not all can be sucessful.
- In your view, what is the proper balance between security from terrorism and liberty? Why?
- What counterterrorism strategies has the US taken since 9/11? SPECIFIC EXAMPLES
- What do you think is the best counterterrism strategy? Why?
-Security always comes first. Terrorism is much more important because it can risk lives. The gov’t must do whatever possible to make sure our people are safe. If that means violating some rights than that’s fine. The gov’t must not use information collected for anything but to hunt down terrorist. There is to be no big brother gov’t
-The U.S. has implemented drone strikes on Iraq and Afghanistan;
U.S. has reopened Gitmo
U.S. has began waterboarding terrorists in order to get information out of them.
-The best counterrorism strategy is to impose rations on that country doing acts or holding terrorists; if they do not comply we must take harsher measures. Invading a country is fine as long as it is for the well being of the world;
- Explain how the American and French Revolutions differed in their goals, methods, and basic philosophies.
- Which revolution was more similar to modern revolutions? Explain
- Discuss the various reasons why revolutions take place, and why many governments fail because of their indecisiveness
American: Gov’t is pragmatic meaning change should be gradual; wanted rule of law and civil liberties; Wanted political changed; forced because of taxation
French: tried to institue a morality
French went into debt; forced because of a hierachy
-The French is more similar because they had many issues to address after revolution such as govt structure, debt, and social/economical gaps. The U.S. just wanted independence from British regualtions and didn’t have to deal with as much as the French did. Most modern revolutions cause because of gov’t structure/corruption, and economical gaps.
-Revolutions take place because people want change or a new govt/leader, Revolutions also take place because people always want more;
Many gov’ts fail because they have no true plan for developement; they are forced to live off their own resources for low dollar and then go into massive amounts of debt and default; Lastly, most revolutions lead to another corrupt gov’t and forces another revoltuion.
