how far does the esophagus span?
it spans from the inferior border of the cricoid cartilage (C6) all the way down through the oesophageal hiatus into the stomach (T11)
what are the vascularization(s), venous and lymphatic drainages, and innervations of the esophagus?
SING
Aorta thoraccic, arteri bronkial, cabang naik dari arteri gastrik

where do esophageal lodgings often happen?
- in the esopharyngeal junction
- in the part where the trachea compresses the esophagus
- in the part where the aortic arch crosses on it
- in the esophageal hiatus
why do esophageal ruptures happen?
an increase in the intraluminal pressure caused by hard vomiting and failure of the cricopharyngeal muscle to relax.
what are the structures located around the esophagus
posteriorly, there exists the azygos, posterior intercostal, and more inferiorly the thoracic aorta.
how does the orientation of the esophagus go?
it is situated in the midline (right of the aorta) however it then hovers to the left side to position itself anterior to the thoracic aorta
