Panniculitis of subcutaneous fat
Present as tender red nodule

Clinical features
A
Anterior lower leg, knees and arms, rarely on face and neck
Ill defined warm oval round without ulceration
Spontaneous resolve within 8 weeks

Thriat infection strep or viral
TB
Chlamydia
Fungal
Parasite
Drugs - sulphonide, amoxy, ocp, nsaids, iodine, gold
IBD, sarcoidosis malignancy

Treatment
A
Bed rest
Leg elevation
Compression bandage
Stocking
Treatment of causes
Prednisolone 25mg OD for 2 weeks then taper
