Q

eruption patterns/sequences

A

mandibular teeth erupt before maxillary counterparts
teeth erupt anterior to posterior with 3 exceptions:
-primary canines after primary first molars
-permanent first molars erupt first in secondary dentition
-permanent maxillary canines erupt after second premolars

Q

black’s classification system

A

categorizes carious lesions/restorations based on the type of tooth affects and its location
6 categories

Q

black’s classification systems class II

A

caries or restoration on the

Q

nomenclature rules for caries, restorations

A
  1. mesial and distal precede all other terms
  2. labial/buccal and lingual follow mesial and distal and precede incisial and occlusal
  3. the terms incisal and occlusal occur last in any combination, except when they combine two surfaces not connected
  4. the final “al” is dropped and replaced by “o”
  5. whenever dropping an “al” results in a double “o”, a hyphen is added
  6. three-term combinations where two unconnected surfaces are connected by a third surface, the mesial or distal surface is first, followed by labial/buccal, lingual, incisal or occlusal then remaining surface
  7. in three-term combinations where all surfaces are connected rules 1 through 3 apply
