Roche Moutonée

A
  • Outcropes of rock that have been sulpted
  • On upstream side an increase in pressure causes resistance of the rock outcrop to the moving ice leads to localised pressure melting. Abrasion causes polishing and stritations
  • On downstream side, the reduction in pressure causes meltwater to freeze forming a bond between the rocky outcrop which plucks rocks
