Stage: Trust vs Mindset
Develop trust in others by having basic needs met by responsive caregivers
Infancy
Birth - 1 year od age
Stage: Autonomy vs. Shame & Doubt
Gain trust in caregivers, asserts their autonomy, and realize their will. If restrained or punished too harshly will develop shame and doubt
Early Childhood
1 - 3 years of age
Stage: Initiative vs Guilt
Encountering a widening social world and are challenged to develop more purposeful behavior and assum greater responsabilites
Late Childhood
3 - 6 years of age
Stage: Industry vs Inferiority
Direct energy toward mastering knowledge and intellectual skills
School Age
6 - 12 years of age
Stage: Identity vs Role Confusion
Individuals are faced with finding out who they are and where they are going in life
Adolescence
12 - 18 years of age
Stage: Intimacy vs Isolation
Individuals face the development task of forming intimate relationships with others
Young Adult
20 - 40 years of age
Stage: Generativity vs Stagnation
Assist the younger generation in developing and leading useful lives
Middle Adult
40 - 65 years of age
Stage: Integerity vs Dispair
Individuals look back and evaluate what they have done with their lives
Elder Adult
65 + years of age
