. eric is the first to suggest that lower-class people should be treated better
. it is obvious why eric and his parents dont share a close relationship - their personalities are different , eric leans more towards socialism than capitalism
. this is why he is uncomfortbale being in their own company , he seems to be tired of their judgements of lower class peopleand seems

to be the most socially aware

member of the family at the start of the play

he openly contradicts his father in front of people something considered impolite at this time

. he shows that he doesnt respect his father at all , which leaves the audience wondering what their relationship will be like once the play finsihes
. eric is tired of his parents gtaking no responsbility for their actions and fed up of mr birlings obessesion with knighood and reoputation
. this line shows the breaking point in eric’s relationship with his parents
