What are the risks of complications minimized by?
- restricting exercise
- controlling dust
- providing proper ventilation
- practicing good stable hygiene
What are two definitive tests?
- virus isolation
- influenza A antigen detection
When should you use antibiotics?
- pneumonia
- purulent discharge
- fever lasts longer than 3 or 4 days
How often should you give a booster in horses that are high risk?
every 4 months
When are foals vaccinated?
6 months, 3 to 6 weeks later and 10-12 months
When should broodmares be vaccinated?
4-6 weeks before foaling
