What are clinical signs of encephalomyelitis?
- low grade fever
- altered mentation (depression, becoming comatose)
- impaired vision
- aimless wandering
- head pressing
- circling
- inability to swallow
- irregular gait
- paresis and paralysis
- terminally, convulsions and death
What is the mortality rate of EEE, WEE, VEE?
- 50-90%
- 20-50%
- 50-75%
How do you get a presumptive diagnosis?
clinical signs in endemic areas and vaccination history
What does supportive care include?
- IV fluids
- stomach tube
- anti-inflammatories
- anticonvulsions
What are the clinical signs in humans?
vary from mild flu-like to death

- up to 75%

When should you vaccinate foals?
3 months, 4 months and 6 months of age
