Equations Flashcards
Weight
Weight = mass x gravitational field strength
Work done
Work done = force x distance ( along the line of action of the force)
Force applied to a spring
Force applied to a spring = spring constant x extension
Moment of a force
Moment of a force = force x distance (normal to direction of force)
Pressure
Pressure = force normal to a surface | divided by | area of that surface
Distance travelled
Distance travelled = speed x time
Acceleration
Acceleration = change in velocity | divided by | time taken
Resultant force
Resultant force = mass x acceleration
Momentum
Momentum = mass x velocity
Gravitational potential energy
Gravitational potential energy = mass x height x gravitational field strength
Efficiency 1
Efficiency = useful output energy transfer | divided by | useful input energy transfer
Efficiency 2
Efficiency = useful power output | divided by | total power output
Energy transferred 1
Energy transferred = power x time
Energy transferred 2
Energy transferred = Charge of flow x potential difference
Density
Density = mass | divided by | volume
