Prejudice or discrimination because of race, colour, culture etc

Illegal deliberate discrimination like bullying

A lack of understanding, fear of what’s different. The influence of family, peers, role models, historical traditions
Why are most Christians against racism?
It goes against Christian principles or equality and love. It involves in treating people badly (not showing love or respect)
Christian responses to racism
> Christians generally try to treat people of all races fairly
Christians often have to not join in with other racist behaviour
try to make a positive effort to welcome ethic groups
if they’re racist they try to change
How Christians encourage racial equality:
By setting a positive example to others
By creating an atmosphere of equal respect for everyone regardless of race
Educating children about equality
Sharing their beliefs about racial equality and social justice
Taking action against racism:
Challenging or reporting any racist behaviour
Supporting anti racist organisations
Protesting against racist policies
Complaining for equal opportunities
Examples of unequal treatment
Women being unfairly given less challenging work
Sexual harassment in the work place
Unfair promotion of one gender instead of another
Different pay for the same job
Three approaches to other religions that Christians have
Only Christianity is the way to god, all other religions are wrong
There are many paths to god but Christianity is the one true path, other religions have part of the truth
One spirituality- one god. All religions are of equal value
Missionary work
Someone sent on a religious mission often abroad attempting to convert people

Ecumenism
All the different Christian denominations should be united together. Believers in ecumenism encourage Christians to unite and worship God and forget differences
